In 1998, Ms. Hanlin graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Russian. While an undergrad at Pitt, she was awarded the Chancellor's Scholarship, a four-year, merit-based, full academic scholarship, and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. She also served as General Editor of the The Pittsburgh Undergraduate Review.
Ms. Hanlin served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Kazakhstan from 1999-2000, teaching English in a small village near the capital city.
Ms. Hanlin attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, graduating in May 2005. She also received Graduate Certificate in Advanced Russian Studies in April 2005. During the course of completing her graduate studies, Ms. Hanlin received a Foreign Language Area Studies Fellowship, a Dean's Scholarship, and the CALI Award in Feminist Legal Theory. She also served on the Pittsburgh Tax Review as an Associate Editor, and studied abroad in the Department of Law and Economics at Donetsk National University in Ukraine.
After receiving her law degree, Ms. Hanlin was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in October 2005 and the Ohio Bar in May 2007. Since graduation from law school, Ms. Hanlin has served as a contract attorney for a number of prestigious law firms, including Reed Smith and Morgan Lewis & Bockius. She also worked as an associate for the Columbus, Ohio law firm of Reeve & Knoll, from May 2007 through November 2008, focusing exclusively upon employee rights litigation.
Since joining the Law Offices of John A. Gallagher, P.C. in January 2009, Ms. Hanlin has represented clients in federal and state employee rights litigation, unemployment compensation appeals, personal injury cases, and breach of contract actions.
Ms. Hanlin is a member of the Philadelphia and Chester County Bar Associations, and is an active member of the National Employment Lawyers Association, Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter.
Ms. Hanlin resides in West Goshen Township with her husband, Dr. Ryan Dammerman.
